Each of us has to walk this path for ourselves; no one can choose your footsteps for you. But contrary to the old expression “life doesn’t come with a manual,” Buddhism gives us systematic and rational guidelines to find our own way to a loving and compassionate life. At this retreat, Zen Teacher Do’on of the Buddhist Temple of Toledo will continue presenting a timely and relatable version of the traditional “Stages of the Path” Teaching that outlines the way of compassion. Rev. Do’on will lead participants in co-creating a contemporary expression of this ancient wisdom through presentation, open Q&A, and breakout groups. Bring your most heartfelt and heartbreaking questions about life and spiritual practice to inspire and illuminate the places we will see on our Buddhist journey.

Students are encouraged to attend the entire retreat, however each morning and afternoon session stands alone as an independent event and you are welcome to attend individual sessions.

The material presented and created at this retreat -- shaped by your questions and our discussions -- will shape a forthcoming book by Rinsen and Do’on on the Buddhist spiritual journey.

Daily schedule Arrival and morning set-up: 9:00 - 9:30 a.m. Morning session: 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Lunch break: 12 - 2:00 p.m. Afternoon session: 2:00 - 5 p.m.

Lunch: TBD.

Costs: The retreat is free and open to the public. Donations from Members and supporters of the Temple allow Reverends Rinsen and Do’on and the community to share this Teaching with all who seek a loving refuge from suffering. If you wish to support the Temple, donations of any amount are always welcome, and visitors are welcome to become sustaining Temple Members - visit our website to make a donation or become a member.

If you are able, please join the ancient tradition of bringing flowers for the altar to show your gratitude for being able to connect with this Teaching.

Drop-ins welcome, sign-up encouraged.
