First Unitarian Church of Toledo, 3205 Glendale Avenue , Toledo

Buddhist Temple of Toledo members will perform Woody Guthrie's "Pastures of Plenty" with guitar, mandolin, recorder, and singing. If you'd like to join in the singing, there will be a quick rehearsal immediately after service on Sunday 2nd. _/_

The Universal Worship Service was created in 1921 by the Indian mystic, musician, and Sufi teacher who brought Universal Sufism to the west. Inayat Khan created this prayer service to invoke the One Being through the world's major faith traditions. The February Theme is Social Justice.

The service is traditionally led by an ordained Cherag or Cherags, who light[s] a candle to each of the traditions included. The Cherag then lights the Spirit of Guidance candle, which symbolically represents “all those who, whether known or unknown to the world, have held aloft the light of Truth amidst the darkness of human ignorance”. Readings and music from the traditions presented follow.
